Monday morning Linda and I went to play some golf - we decided just to play the front nine and keep the rest for another time. We had lunch then headed to Porthcurno for a walk along the cliffs. We were yet again blessed with the most amazing weather - the pictures speak for themselves. At the Minack we were sat right on the front row of the terraces. Very comfy and so close to the actors. The play - Our Country's Good - was based in a penal colony in Australia. You can see from the moonlit picture it was grim at times - as it should be I guess. The moon rose, almost full and it was yet another great production. Linda and I had gone better prepared than Keith and I on Friday! We took a blanket and some hot bovril in a flask! The play finished about 10.45 so we were home late - but well worth the experience. |

Sunday saw Linda arrive :-) After the long drive from Kent it was a good walk that was needed and we went to Cape and down the path that is full of primroses in spring to the old mining area. The tide was high and it was stunning.
Today we had rain - damp and grey. Alison called in for a coffee and then I took Keith to catch his train back to Bath. It'd been a lovely few days. In the evening I went round to Judith and Karl's for dinner - had a lovely relaxed evening - Keith had bought them a bottle of Chablis and it was much enjoyed! I didn't get back till late so I'm afraid no evening pic!!!
I set off early this morning because I thought the roads might be busy. I wanted to go into Mallets in Truro for a couple of things... I came away without the things I'd hoped for but a wonderful little milk-frother saucepan... and I've decided every home should have one! It's fantastic! After this discovery I went over to see Tim in Cubert. We had coffee together and looked at some Old Cornwall stuff he'd been given; then it was off to Perran. I dropped Tim off near Perran Sands so he could have a walk through the dunes and by the lost Church, I drove up and parked on Droskyn and waited for my golfing friend June and her husband Paul, and son Ethan. We carried surfboards and stuff down to the beach - the tide was going out and there were lots of vellas (don't know how to spell that!) Ethan and I surfed and I was amazed at how warm the water felt. The sea wasn't big but we caught some good rides. Unfortunately Ethan stood on a weaver fish. He was very brave as the pain grew. Paul took him up to the surf club for the hot water treatment and it didn't spoil his day. We played tennis and frisbee and then had a very nice meal in a new cafe near the beach car park. All in all a lovely day. I came back in time to meet my builder who is going to do a few essential jobs for me. |
