This will be a quick overview :-) There have been some beautiful sunrises; absolutely stunning night skies with shooting stars which I wish I could capture; wild and windy storms and some very mild days! I have golfed quite a lot and am gradually learning to play the course :-) I have been up to Truro to the theatre with Anne to see Chin Chin. A depressing play amazingly acted by Simon Callow and my old favourite Felicity Kendall. The show was basically them in conversation... incredible ability to remember all the lines - but Anne I came away feeling a bit sad as the storyline was rather grim. Still, we had enjoyed our venture up-country and Truro Christmas lights were lovely. Very much looking forward to Christmas :-) | I've had another trip to Truro and more golf since - now shaking off the remains of a cold. My garden continues to delight - with the winter flowering camellia which is so beautiful :-) I'm hoping to find out who planted the garden to visit them because they took so much care in choosing the shrubs -I'd like to tell them what joy it brings :-) The official 'Christmas light switch' on took place in the square with a band. There is a little star on the church tower behind which looks as though it it is just hanging. I walked down with Paula and little Rosie and it was lovely fun - except a gale decided to blow! Fortunately the square itself is quite sheltered. My next door neighbours have had their baby - a little girl Ella Grace - I'm looking forward to a cuddle when I am cold free! |

Over the next few days I got all my Christmas cake ingredients together and borrowed Judith's special Aga Cake Baker and baked my cake. In fact - I made a second one as I wasn't sure how successful the first one was although it looked pretty good. The cake-baker that I borrowed was far more effective than doing it without so that's really useful. I also went out with Anne to a Dickens' evening. Local folk reading extracts from various books. It was really good :-) Sunday morning I went for a lovely walk down Cot Valley... here are some more pics :-)
On the 7th I took Alison to Truro for an appointment at the hospital - just a check up for a knee and all was well. Afterwards I took her down to Malpas where we had lunch in THe Heron, and then I took her to St Clement for a walk... The Table-tennis club have three teams in three divisions of the West Cornwall League - a bit serious for me - they were shocked at my ancient bat which I like so much but which needs new rubber. Still, it was good to meet them :-)
