First a couple more pictures from January...
February dawned with the same weather of the last couple of months... storms and rain! It also saw Keith and I heading up to York as Meriel had had two falls in a short space of time and was in hospital. We stayed in her flat while she was in hospital... and after the initial work to stabilise her condition she recovered amazingly well. She has remained in hospital while some support for her was arranged by the 'enablement' team - who are tasked with helping with her to re-establish independence when back at home. There was a waiting list for this so she had to remain in hospital while they were sorting it out. She has moved into a 'step down' care home... I think that's what it is called. It's basically a home where she will receive support while they organise this other care. All a bit complex but they are doing their best. She moves out of the hospital today. It is wonderful to see her so well and like her normal self again :-)
York Minster was beautiful in the sunshine :-) It was my birthday while we were there so Gill (Keith's sister) improvised a cake for me :-)
Tim and Bridgie came to visit Grandma on separate weekends, both bringing beautiful flowers. When we knew all was well and we were just awaiting for the care to be arranged, Keith returned home for a break. I stayed on till the 23rd, and Keith returned to York on the 24th :-) | My lovely neighbour Paula looked after the house for me and all was well despite the fierce storms. I had an excellent journey home - leaving at 4.15am avoiding any traffic. It has been sunshine and showers since I got back - it's lovely to be home :-) |
