Well, I've almost caught up!
Yesterday was a really lovely day - not the weather - just the day!
It began with breakfast at Judith and Karl's - yum - followed by a walk down to Carn Gloose. They took me a different way to the usual one I go on - and we passed these creatures! Llamas and emus - we are an eclectic bunch in St Just!
Judith and Karl were off back to London for the next stage of Judith's treatment early next day so it was lovely to share this walk with them.

I'd been invited by a lovely golf friend, Anne , to join her on a walk up to Chun Castle in the afternoon. She lives near to it and had gone to watch the eclipse from there in 1999.
This is one of the most moving days I've had since I've been in St Just.
The weather was warm but the sea mist was rolling in from the west so we could not see the sea in any direction but it seemed just right. There was a wonderful calm but alive atmosphere in this place. We sat and chatted and Anne talked about her life. She placed on a mound of heather, a tiny bunch of wildflowers that she had picked before we left.

We talked awhile then walked on to Chun Quoit which is one of the best preserved quoits in Cornwall. The colour of the grasses and heather were wonderful. At one point we were surrounded by the mist rolling in from either side of us and meeting in the dip in front. It was beautiful.
As we walked back the sun came through strongly again and we headed for Anne's lovely cottage. The gorse in a nearby hedge had made the most wonderful shape - and the hanging baskets outside the white cottage shone out!

If you come visiting me - and the weather is good - I'll probably take you up there :-)
