The Monday morning was wet and windy and we decided to visit Geevor tin mine. We enjoyed a visit underground in one of the old adits and afterwards met up with Anne (my golf friend who had taken me up to Chun castle earlier in the year). There is a lovely cafe attached to the mine and we shared one of their renowned pasties - about the nearest to a proper home-made one I've had. It was good :-)
We had to pop over to Penzance later in the afternoon to visit an orthodontist as Bridgie had a problem with one of her retainers. The dentist was great and took a mould and we returned on Wednesday afternoon to pick it up.
On Tuesday we went up to see Tim and visit Perran. He came across to Perran and we had a great walk on the beach - no rain but a very strong wind which the kite-surfers were making the most of. Tim was on good form - had not long returned from his latest trip to France and was still regaining his energy.

Sunrise was pretty on Wednesday and it turned into a feast of a day! We met up with Paula and Rosie for lunch at the Cook Book. We followed that by a visit to Cape for a final look and then we went to Heather's Cafe in Pendeen( which I will take all of you to when you come and visit!) it is so clean and friendly and Heather makes the most delicious cakes!
In the afternoon we returned to Penzance to pick up Bridgie's retainer and then went to my favourite restaurant - The Alverne for an early evening meal. The Alverne is the restaurant Tim and I discovered when we were walking the coast path and staying in the Youth Hostel in Penzance. We received a lovely welcome from Sandra then; it is where I took Tim for his 60th birthday and remains a lovely place to eat.
This was Bridgie's final day - what a wonderful time we had had - and what amazing weather|!
Bridgie caught the train 8.40 on Thursday morning and headed back to London - I was very sad to see her go :-(
